Blue Chips Seek Revenge after Season Opener
The University of Alabama Intramural Flag Football has introduced a 5 game season in 2008. This means more games and a chance to play two teams twice during the regular season. This article will recap the first four games of the season for the Blue Chips.
Blue Chips Preseason 2008
The Blue Chips are playing with many newcomers this year. Looking for a way to continue that winning tradition, the new squad entered the Preseason tournament with much to prove. With the loss of two quarterbacks, Trey Hayes and Philip Williams, Craig Hendon stepped into the role to lead the Chips. Returning players from last years team are Hendon, Caleb Parker, Antony Tran, Austin Bettis, and Eric Kirkpatrick. Newcomers Austin Philips, Clay Calhoun, Jake Stone, Daniel Megginson, Jordan McGehee, and Zac McGehee have exceeded expectations.
BCO transitions to Wordpress
BCO has finally made the transition to Wordpress. We will no longer have to write articles directly into the database. Now we can more easily do things like this, or even this. I did not make the transition to Wordpress before simply because I didn’t realize how easy it was. I took me about an hour to go from old website to Wordpress with a slightly modified theme.
A Sleeping Monster Awakens

After a sub par performance against Shenanigans in their first game of the season, the mighty Blue Chips took the field against the Channel 4 News Team looking to smash the life out of their opponent. Not even the weatherman could predict the rain the Blue Chips were about to bring down on their highly outmatched opponent.
Chips Win in Season Opener
The Blue Chips began the 2007 season against a largely outmatched opponent. “Shenanigans” was a team that had meant to sign up for the semi-pro league and was formed from a group of free agents. As a result, the action in the game was similar to when Alabama played Western Carolina; very lopsided.
Unveiling of the Roster
So after much anticipation, and with the hours of September 9th dwindling away, the Blue Chips team management has released the roster for the 2007 intramural football season. This year’s team will have an opportunity to take the Blue Chips organization to the next level as a program.
Roster To Be Announced September 9th, 2007
This afternoon invitations to join the Blue Chips 2007 football roster were sent out via email. This marked the end of the strenuous 2 week selection period in which prospective players where tested both mentally and physically.
Football Season Draws Nigh
With less than two weeks before school begins, the excitement over the upcoming football season is at a feverish pitch. While Alabama has a new head football coach, the Blue Chips have also had some exciting events take place in the off-season.
Blue Chips march to Sweet 16
Thanks to their mercy rule beating of mediocre J.D. McNuge in the regular season finale, the Blue Chips knew that they had earned one bye for the University tournament. Little did they know that day, they had actually earned two.
Blue Chips clinch division
For the first time in team history, the Blue Chips claimed the division title in basketball by virtue of their 70-50 victory over previously unbeaten J.D. McNuge. The Blue Chips will now await their seeding for the University Tournament.
